In this class, you'll learn the Reclaiming tradition style of magic, working with the elements of life: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. In sacred space, we will share: drumming ~ singing ~ sacred circle dances ~ elemental breath practices ~ visualization ~ sensing, projecting and raising energy ~ chanting ~ trance work ~ creating magical space ~ spell crafting ~ and structuring a meaningful ritual. Prerequisite: Read the first seven chapters of The Spiral Dance by Starhawk or all of the Elements path in The Twelve Wild Swans, by Starhawk and Hilary Valentine. This class is considered the first of the Reclaiming tradition core classes. When: Friday, March 7, 7-10 PM; Saturday, March 8, 9 AM - 9 PM; and Sunday, March 9, 9 AM - 3 PM (with meal breaks each day). Where: Private home in the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta. Cost: $120 - $65, sliding scale. You decide where you slide. By using a sliding scale, it is hoped that those who can afford to do so will pay on the higher end so that this class will be available to those of different incomes. Those who have previously taken this class may enroll in this one for $20 to help make this class possible and build Reclaiming community. About the Teaching Team: Irish Flambeau is a devotee of Venus inspired by the Reclaiming tradition. She worked as a psychotherapist for a decade, and is now interested in integrating psychotherapy with pagan spirituality and healing methods. Irish completed a two year certification process with the Avalon Institute in clairvoyant healing and is training to join the faculty of the Horizon Healing Center in Atlanta. Her activism is currently centered on leading Dances of Universal Peace in her home community, at peace demonstrations, and in developing a body of pagan circle dances. He enjoys blending his background of healing, meditation and movement with modern witchcraft.
